How do I setup Email Archiver for VMware?


Important Information

READ before starting the Installation of Email Archiver for VMware
Required disk space for Compressed Email Archiver Virtual Machine Image

  • The email archiver image zip (compressed) file is approximately 2 GB
  • The extracted image is approximately 15 GB
  • Please select a server which has 20 GB of free space and it is accessible
    from your VMware environment

Required Hardware for Email Archiver Image

  • Orca 500 – CPU: 2, Memory 8 GB, Hard drive: 600 GB
  • Orca 1000 – CPU: 4, Memory 16GB, Hard drive: 1100 GB
  • Orca 2000 – CPU: 6, Memory 16GB minimum, Hard drive: 2100 GB
  • NOTE: You can modify the CPU and Memory after the virtual machine is installed

Step 1

1. Download and save the Email Archiver VMware image.

2. The email also contains the product key. You will need this information to complete the installation.

Step 2

Open the VMware vSphere Web Client.

Expand the vCenter Server list.

Click on the vCenter Server that you wish to deploy to.

Click on “Deploy OVF Template”

Step 6
Select the radio button “Local file”.

Click on the “Browse” button and locate the .ovf file that was unzipped from the download.

After selecting the Email Archiver ovf file. Click the “Next” button.

Verify details and click the “Next” button.

Step 9
Select a name and location for the deployed template and click the “Next” button.

Select where to run the deployed template and click the “Next” button.

Select a location to store the files for the deployed template.

From the “Select virtual disk format” dropdown, select the format you would like to use (“Thin Provision”)

Step 12
Setup networks.

Set IP protocol as “IPv4” and set IP allocation as “Static -Manual” and click the “Next” button.

Note: Please make sure that MAC address is also static for your Email Archiver.

Review your settings.

Make sure you have selected “power on after deployment” (this option is at the bottom of the page)

and click the “Finish” button.

Go to the console tab of Email Archiver virtual machine.

Login to the Email Archiver console using the username (login as): enterkey and the password: enterkey

Step 15
Enter the product key. You can find the product key in the initial email.

Press “Enter,”

You can now close the console.

Step 16
Congratulations! Your Email Archiver is now up and running.
Next, register your Email Archiver.
