  • Archiving Operating System (AOS 7.2.3) Updates

At Intradyn, we remain committed to strengthening the performance, reliability, and security of our Archiving Operating System (AOS). Each release is carefully developed to meet the evolving needs of our customers, with a focus on data integrity, system stability, and user experience.

The 7.2.3 update builds upon the foundation of our 7.2.x series and delivers essential security enhancements, improved compatibility during version migrations, and greater clarity and consistency across several key system functions. These improvements aim to provide IT administrators and compliance professionals with more confidence and control over their archiving environment.

    Security Fixes & Enhancements

    • CSS Vulnerability Mitigations: Resolved several vulnerabilities related to cascading style sheets (CSS) that could be exploited in rare edge cases to compromise the display or behavior of user interfaces. These patches close off vectors that could allow cross-site scripting (XSS) or other style-based injection attacks.
    • Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) Protections: Closed security gaps that could allow an attacker to trick the server into initiating unauthorized internal or external requests. These safeguards prevent misuse of the server as a proxy, protecting sensitive internal resources.

    Migration Error Resolution

    • Improved Upgrade Path from AOS 6.x to 7.x: Customers upgrading from version 6.x to 7.x occasionally encountered a blocking error during the migration process. In 7.2.3, this issue has been resolved, allowing for a seamless transition without interruption.

    Enhanced Email Export Compatibility

    • Federated System Export Fix: Previously, email export operations could fail when trying to export messages that originated from a federated machine running AOS 6.x. This release eliminates that bug, ensuring smooth export of messages across mixed-version federated environments.

    Consistent LDAP Authentication Behavior

    • Domain Prefix & Case Sensitivity Alignment: In earlier versions, LDAP login behavior could vary depending on whether users entered their domain prefix or used different letter casing in their usernames. With 7.2.3, LDAP authentication is now consistent across all login formats—regardless of prefix inclusion or capitalization.

    Clarified Nightly Email Report Messaging

    • Refined SMTP Fetch Error Messaging: The nightly email report system previously displayed ambiguous language when there were SMTP fetching issues. This release improves the messaging to more clearly indicate the underlying conditions that trigger these alerts.

    Final Thoughts
