Can junk or spam email be excluded from archiving?

Like with the deletion of archived material, the Intradyn appliance is specifically designed to protect companies and organizations from themselves.

In order to maintain the integrity of the archiver, the Intradyn appliance will archive any and all communications sent to and from a mailbox. Simply put, if spam or junk email reaches a mailbox, it will be permanently kept.

The archiver is dependent on the performance of hygiene filters within your email server to prevent spam from ever reaching that point. Fortunately, in this case, spam is highly duplicitous, meaning that typically more than one copy is sent to your organization at a time. The archiving appliance features a standard De-duplication tool, which thereby stores only one copy of any communication which has been sent multiple times.
